I love wonderful things. Who doesnt?

1) Hedi Slimane Rock Diary - Hedi is the man. Wonderful taste. Sophisticated and simple.

2) Sunglasses - I prefer Ray Ban Wayfarers but I love how people look in them. Put glasses on the model when she/he is shitty! ha! One of the good tricks...

3) Nice Pen - I have a fountain pen at my desk that I use from time to time. It feels nice writing with a cool pen.

4) Nice Lighter - I love butane ones because the torch is super cool. I have a nice silver one but it ran out of butane and 1) I don't smoke 2) I'm too lazy to get it refilled. But you get the idea...

5) Chanel Surfboards - I don't surf but I want to learn. The boards are so cool!

Swamped this week. Shooting 4 jobs in the next week and doing all the production without a producer nor agent. Ah!!! Trying to keep up with the blog more now too.

Some new work from Contributing Editor, V, Bon Magazine, and Francis and the Lights piano. Drinking my morning coffee listening to Lil Wayne, Jay Sean, DJ Khaled, and Gucci Mane whose new track "Spotlight" with Usher is as good as it gets.

Shooting 5 days the next two weeks and meeting some great people. I might be posting more the coming month.

DEJA VU

Went for a run on South Beach this morning. LOVE being on the ocean. Decided to walk down Ocean Drive. Ran across a Starbucks that my family and I went to back in 1998. I remember it exactly. I had my MiniDisc player on Shakira the entire time. Hips Don't Lie.

Then, I passed a bar I went to in 2002 when I came here for the summer during the freshman year of college. Coconut rum.

Then, I passed an art gallery named DEJA VU and it clicked.

Saw a maroon Dodge Viper and then a Black Masarati. Not much comparison between the two. The Dodge Viper was cool in '98 when I was in middle school. So were pogs. And, so was drawing in class.

Grabbing lunch then off to the shows. Forgot my Ipod player so can't listen to Jason Derulo "What you Say" for another week. AH!

Here are 2 spreads from Test Magazine shot by Catherine Servel of Myf Shephard and Katie Fogarty.

I love seeing spreads on these girls as they were some of my earlier tests last year. They are the girls are Summer 2008 and have gone on to do great things. Photographed them both by my old apartment in the Upper East Side and they had "it" which is what enables some models to excel above the rest.

I shot Katie for Jonathan Saunders look book and almost shot Myf for a Belgian Magazine recently but was out of town.

Katie says she's a nerd. I think she holds the moon.

It's Thanksgiving. A time for thanks to all the good that happens in our life. Today, I had a feast with my family and we all toasted on how happy we all were for each other.

This past year has been an up and down year for most with the recession, fear about our jobs, relationship issues, etc. But, it's also been a great year. I'm learning to cook, I'm thankful for the travel my work has allowed me to do, thankful for progression in my career, and thankful for new relationships, good friends, and family.

Have a few more days of vacation left until I'm back in New York. Then, on December 2nd, I'm off to Art Basel in Miami. When I get back to NY, have 2 weeks of solid shoots ahead and then off to Cabo on the 19th. I feel like a nomad. Been traveling much more this year. Travel is one of my favorite interests. It adds to life experience.

Do people REALLY like Lady Gaga's music? I mean, I listened to the entire album today and the only song above the bar was "Monster". "The Hype Monster" Comparisons to Madonna is like comparing Yung Joc to Michael Jackson. Rihannas new album is great. Hard. Solemn. Sensational beats. Shakira's "Did it Again" reminds me of a cruise I took in 2002 when "Hips Don't Lie" was big. Nothing beats the 20 minute guided meditation I'm about to listen to. In GQ, Clint Eastwood says he meditated for the past 40 years morning and night. My dad says it's girly to try to meditate. I ask if he thinks Eastwood was girly in Dirty Harry? And there you go! ...

Jason Derulo "Whatcha Say" - The catchiest song on radio right now in my opinion. SO SO SO GOOD!

I'm in Atlanta with the family and then going to the lakhouse in North Carolina for Thanksgiving. Feels so good to be with the family and friends during the holidays. "Work mode" is turned off for the next week and then 2 solid weeks of shooting and then off to Cabo for Christmas. Work and Play. You ALWAYS have to have balance between the two. The first two years of shooting, it was all work. Now, I'm learning what balance means and am very grateful to have found this so early in my career :)

Today, I made bok choy for dinner and soup. It was my first time making bok choy so I screwed it up a bit! The stems have no flavor so I should have cut them off before cooking!

Saw The XX in Brooklyn tonight. Lead singer is AMAZING! Feel their vibe although not sure if "catchy" enough for mainstream radio and ultra high record sales. Coldplay and U2 still have those catchy/radio friendly melodies which make them awesome like a green gecko!

Day 1 of shooting the rock bands! Was such a fun night with my friend Chris and I. Saw Ambulance at the Mercury Lounge and Sean Lennon's band at Poissen Rouge. Ran into Kemp Muhl who introduced me to Sean Lennon. Then, went to see this new hot band, Hockey. Photos look great. Stayed up past my bedtime! Day 2 is underway starting at 8PM tonight. Rock Bands Rock!

Valery Gherman, a friend and makeup artist repped by De Facto here in New York, took me to Ninth Street Espresso recently to enjoy a triple espresso shot. I was just reading this months GQ Magazine and they mentioned Ninth Street Espresso as being one of the best espresso joints in the country.

I'm an espresso junkie. I have an Illy capsule machine and have an espresso a few times a week. It's a time to reflect on the work day and enjoy a wonderful treat that most people never venture into.

In life, always strive for the Third Wave. Save up for that Burberry trench coat instead of buying 5 from H and M.

She is the Editor in Chief of Teen Vogue and wrote the Teen Vogue Handbook on how to break into the fashion industry. Persistence is key. Aston Martin is one of the greatest car makers in the world and they have been through the low profit years as well.

Discovered new INA consignment shop in NY: www.inanyc.com. Armani suit. Jet Black. Amazing fit. $200. Still haven't bought it yet but once rent is paid going to see what I have left.

Models are in Paris = Work is slow = Get to go to the Central Park Zoo and take a walking tour of Greenwich Village on Sunday and lunch at Freeman's Alley with some creative directors and photographers on Saturday.

I have developed an affinity for espresso and am attempting to learn how to froth milk in order to make cappucino.

Jane Hotel = Marvelous. Posh. Good scene.

KID IN CANDY STORE

To be successful in life, you have to be the kid in the candy store.

You have to be excited. You have to be free from judgements. You have to be open to new possibilities.

When I was approx. 7-13 years old, opening the pack of "baseball/sports cards" was my candy. It was an amazing experience. Was I going to get the Michael Jordan card that was worth $150.00 or the Manute Bol card that was worth .05?

Should I buy 3 packs of Topps or should I save for the one pack of Upper Deck, which had more potential to get a truly valuable card?

Be the kid in the candy store. Be the kid opening up the pack of baseball cards. It's a week before christmas before you knew Santa Claus wasn't real.

I met Sebastian Kim for the first time in 2006. We had tea at the Pink Pony in the Lower East Side. He drove up in his white scooter and was, without question, one of the nicest, most helpful, and wonderful people I've ever met. A person that NO ONE dislikes and everyone roots for to do better and better. Very special.

He gave me this advice which I'd like to pass on to anyone that deems it valuable to them.

"Enjoy the process"

The "process" of being successful takes time, endurance, forthright, and character. Enjoy the good times. Enjoy the bad. Enjoy the failures and Enjoy the successes. Failure often leads to success. I had an 8-10 page story cut from Details Magazine from the September issue. Would have put me in a higher caliber but I took it as a blessing.

CAPPUCCINO VS. CAFFE LATTE

Essentially the same except the caffee latte has a much higher froth/steamed milk content. Cappacino is prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed milk foam. Served in porcelain cups to hold its heat content better than glass or paper. The froth at the top holds the heat so it stays warm longer. The main ingrediant in cappuccino is a shot of espresso.

Now, for espresso, Illy makes some of the best capsule espresso makers. You put the capsule into the machine and press a button. Done. Espresso is served.

You pay for what you get. Spend $450 for a great machine that will last a long time.

An espresso/cappucino machine is a blessing. Sure beats regular coffee on some days.

EVERYONE needs to learn the basics of investing. The stock markets, where to put your money, how to grow it, yields, etc. And the younger you start the bigger your nest egg grows so, when you want to settle down, you have money waiting on you to continue in the same lifestyle you have right now.

I'm dabbling in stocks at the moment and getting my feet wet. Have a LOT to learn. Trying to spend 30 minute to an hour each night reading about it. "Rich Dad Poor Dad"

And, Ryan Leslie knows how it's done by throwing 100's on the table in the Mandarin Oriental. Don't worry. We hit up the Plaza Hotel later that night as well. Or was it the morning?

Last thing I heard is it's fashion week. You can't miss the parties this week! Almost as good as the shows. Ford is throwing a bash at Gramercy Park Hotel and Women's is at a penthouse on 25th St. This is the night of multiple events. Go John Casablancas style. Show up for 15 minutes and say hello and hit the next one.

I have my Trident Splash Strawberry/Lime so we're good for the count.

Kid Cudi's album is almost here. Jay-Z's The Blueprint coming this Friday. Haven't seen Gish and Goom yet, but Ting is doing well! YEA!

Today, I woke up at 9:30AM and decided Bon Jovi was dumb. Why listen to Bon Jovi in 2009 unless you are in a kareoke bar drinking PBR. But, sadly, I don't go to kareoke bars. I like hotel lounges and cocktails. So, with this being said, Bon Jovi is out for now.

What's in is the Kooks. When I am retouching, I love their albums on repeat. It's feel good music. It makes me want to go for a run.
